Lincoln ? The Nebraska football team practiced for two hours Thursday afternoon in Memorial Stadium, as the Huskers continued preparations for Saturday?s Big 12 opener at Iowa State. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 2:37 p.m. and will be televised regionally by ABC.

"I was pleased with practice today," Head Coach Frank Solich said. "It was a spirited workout and the execution was good. They certainly have a very good frame of mind right now about themselves, in terms of having prepared well for the game. They are excited about the game taking place this Saturday. Hopefully, the weather will be good. It looks like a chance of showers, but we will see."

NU will take 70 players to Iowa State, but will hold meetings and a walk-through in Lincoln on Friday at 1:30 p.m. before departing for Ames.

"We are going to have meetings here tomorrow, as well as practice here tomorrow, before boarding the bus at 2:45 p.m. We are going to bypass getting a workout in at the stadium, so we can save a lot of time and make things a little more relaxing for the team."

Coach Solich will address the media prior to Friday?s walk-through. Cameras will be allowed to shoot the first five minutes of the walk-through.
