Huskers Begin Preparations for McNeese State

Lincoln - The Nebraska football team practiced for two hours in half pads Monday afternoon on the grass practice fields north of Memorial Stadium, as the Huskers began preparations for Saturday?s game with McNeese State. The game with the Cowboys is scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. kickoff and will be carried on a live internet broadcast on a subscription basis at

Nebraska Head Coach Frank Solich said the Huskers showed an attitude of resiliency at Monday?s practice.

"We had a good Monday?s practice," Head Coach Frank Solich said. "Their attitude has always been good in terms of wanting to get things done the right way, and they came out went about that again today. It was a tough weekend for them, but football can be tough, and what you?ve got to do is move forward, whether you?re talking a win or talking a loss."

The Huskers will focus on preparations for McNeese State, which improved to 4-0 on the season with a win over Western Kentucky on Saturday. The Cowboys are ranked No. 2 nationally in the most recent I-AA poll and already own one victory over a Division I-A opponent this season with a 24-19 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 14. Coach Tommy Tate?s squad is ranked ahead of 43 Division I-A teams in Jeff Sagarin?s weekly power rankings, coming in at No. 76 nationally in the ratings.
