Lincoln -- The Huskers? workout in Memorial Stadium was cut short by approximately 12 minutes today, as a hard rain turned into a severe thunderstorm.

"We pulled up early," said Coach Frank Solich. "We did get a little work in the rain, which was probably good, but once it became clear that it was more than a shower and that thunderstorms were involved, we got off the field. I was pleased with what we got accomplished while we were on the field and did not see it as a major disruption. In fact it gave the guys a little bit of a break, so that was probably okay too."

Barrett Ruud had good news today, getting rid of both his cast and boot. Ruud had both an MRI and an X-Ray on the leg, both of which were negative. The deep bone bruise is healing well and Solich said he has a chance to play.
