Nebraska Head Coach John Cook
General
I?ve never prepared a speech for coming down to the Coliseum like this. You have to give Hawaii credit, they had to travel and they played great. They hung in there in a tough environment, and they deserved to win the match.

On tonight?s performance
Our effort and emotion were there. Maybe we were too wound up, but we didn?t execute well on the side out. I thought we did a good job on (junior outside hitter) Lily Kahumoku and (junior outside hitter) Kim Willoughby. I thought we played well defensively.

On Nebraska seniors
That?s what we have to keep in perspective, this group gives a great effort on and off the court. There are three Academic All-Americans and three All-Americans, and they?ve never lost a conference match in three years, and they have a national championship. They have the best work ethic. There will be big changes next year. Nebraska has so much to be proud of with these seniors; they?re in hospitals and schools, giving to the community.

Hawaii is not a good serving team, we?ve seen better serving teams. We just didn?t get (senior setter) Greicha (Cepero) at the net in position. Sometimes we were anxious, tight. (Junior outside hitter) Kim Willoughby stopped jump serving and started floating. Sometimes it is hard to get into a rhythm, and tonight was that night.

On the battle of wills
I think Hawaii was able to play their style of play better than we did. Our team gave it everything we had, but we weren?t consistent. These two teams belong in the final four.

On junior outside hitter Kim Willoughby
Kim is a great player, and she should be considered for player of the year. I thought we did a good job on her, we touched her and dug her.

On comparing this match to the loss to Stanford in 2001
We?re not used to losing. We didn?t play our best in a critical match.

Nebraska senior middle blocker Amber Holmquist on the block
We?ve been preparing for two weeks with (assistant coach) Craig (Skinner). We felt very prepared; we expected them to get kills. I thought we controlled them enough, but we didn?t execute well enough. I don?t think we felt we were going to lose until we did. We are fighters and we showed that tonight.

Nebraska Senior outside hitter Laura Pilakowski
On the pressure of tonight?s match:
We didn?t feel pressured; emotion is good for us. We needed to be aggressive.

Senior libero Lindsay Wischmeier on tonight?s performance:
I don?t think we were tentative, we knew they?ve have a big block. We knew we could take out (junior outside hitter) Lily Kahumoku and (junior outside hitter) Kim Willoughby. We played like we weren?t going to lose, but it didn?t end up like we wanted.

Senior outside hitter Laura Pilakowski on Hawaii:
They?re an awesome defensive team. If we keep hitting the same shots, they?ll keep digging you, so you have to mix it up and do other things and tonight that didn?t happen.

On senior memories
I agree with Greicha, I?ll always remember my teammates. The seniors are my best friends. I?ll remember we?ve accomplished as a team, and not the negatives.

Senior setter Greichaly Cepero on senior memories:
The most important thing is my teammates. Twenty years from now, I won?t remember the wins and losses. The people are always there for you, for four years I?ve been blessed with good people and to me that is the most important thing. They?re my friends, my family.

Hawaii Head Coach Dave Shoji
General
It?s too bad this match is in the Regional Final. I thought there were five teams in the running for the national title. But someone had to play in the Regional Final and it had to be Nebraska and Hawaii.

We were ready to play tonight. There was a lot of pressure on Nebraska. We thought we could free it up, relax, go and play loose and not worry about anything.

On Beating Nebraska At Home
That?s a huge win for our program. We?ve lost twice to Nebraska in two years. They have a great tradition, as do we. But they?ve had the upperhand the last eight years.

On What Happened In Game Three
At 1-1 nothing had changed from our game plan. There were no major changes except to go back to was successful in game one.

Game plans are highly overrated. You do things you do well and exploit what you can on the other side of the net.

On The Serving
We served tough enough but we didn?t get many aces. But they didn?t have all of the options in their offense.

Hawaii Junior Lily Kahumoku
The sets were pretty scattered. But I?m fortunate enough to be able to deattach my shoulder and be creative with my arm swing.
