Huskers Wind Down Preparations for Oklahoma State
Lincoln - The Nebraska football team practiced for more than two hours Thursday at Memorial Stadium to nearly wrap up its preparations for Saturday?s road contest with Oklahoma State. The game is set to kickoff at 11:39 a.m. and will be televised regionally on Fox Sports Net. "It was a pretty good week of practice, and I think our spirits are good," Coach Frank Solich said. "I think we?re a team that has been improving, and hopefully that will show when we line up with Oklahoma State. Both teams are physical, and it should be a hard-hitting contest." Solich announced that sophomore place-kicker Sandro DeAngelis is out for the season with a stress fracture in his left foot. In his place, Dale Endorf has been added to Nebraska?s roster and will travel to Oklahoma State. Endorf is a 5-11, 200-pound, junior from Wichita, Kan. Solich also said that senior wingback John Klem has taken some repetitions with the kickers. Nebraska cornerback and punt returner DeJuan Groce earned a spot on CNNSI.com?s Midseason All-America Team released Thursday. Groce claimed a spot as a returner after producing 399 yards and three touchdowns on 18 returns through Nebraska?s first seven games this season. The senior from Garfield Heights, Ohio, owns five career punt return touchdowns and ranks second at Nebraska in career return yards (885) trailing only 1972 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rodgers. The Huskers will depart for Stillwater on Friday and are scheduled to walk-through at Lewis Field at 3 p.m. Coach Solich will address the media before Nebraska?s walk-through and members of the media are encouraged to arrive early.
