Lincoln - The Nebraska football team worked out for one hour and 45 minutes inside Memorial Stadium on Thursday afternoon as the No. 8/7 Huskers continued preparations in advance of Saturday night's game at Penn State. Coach Frank Solich welcomed Thursday's cool and cloudy conditions in Lincoln.
"We had great weather for practice today," Solich said. "The players were full of energy and they are very excited about making this trip. The team is very focused on this football game and has prepared well throughout the week."
Solich noted that the Huskers will be in good health for Saturday night's contest, as no players are expected to be held out because of injury. Nebraska will alter their normal road game routine slightly on Friday, holding their walk-through practice in Lincoln shortly before noon, then boarding its charter flight for State College, Pa. in the early afternoon. Upon arrival in State College, the Huskers will briefly visit Beaver Stadium, but will not work out at the facility.
Penn State officials expect a capacity crowd at the 107,282-seat facility, meaning Saturday's game will feature the largest crowd ever to witness a Husker football game. In addition to the sellout crowd, the game will be televised to more than 75 percent of the nation by ABC
