Lincoln ? The Nebraska football team practiced for two hours in sweats and helmets inside Memorial Stadium Thursday afternoon, as the Huskers wrapped up preparations for Saturday?s Big 12 showdown with No. 11 Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., and the game will be televised regionally by Fox Sports Net.

"We have had a good week of practice," Head Coach Frank Solich said. "Our players are excited to play the game and their attitude is great. We are really looking forward to the game."

Verizon/CoSIDA announced its Academic All-District VII team on Thursday, with 11 Huskers named to either the first or second team. Judd Davies and Chris Kelsay were named to the first-team all-district squad for the second straight year, while Kyle Ringenberg and Pat Ricketts were also selected to the first team.

Seven Nebraska athletes were named to the second team with Troy Hassebroek, Phil Peetz and David Kolowski picked from the offensive side of the ball, while Philip Bland, Aaron Terpening, Chad Sievers and Trevor Johnson were selected on defense.

"We are very proud of the academic program that we have here for our student-athletes," Solich said. "It is amazing the amount of academic All-Americans we have had in the sport of football. We have positioned ourselves with four first-team all-district players and seven on the second team. We are really proud of those guys and the tradition that they are continuing in terms of the academic excellence."

Nebraska is scheduled to walk-through at 4:45 p.m. on Friday at KSU Stadium. Coach Solich will address the media before walk-through with cameras being allowed to shoot the first five minutes of practice.
