Noting Boyer: Jesse Boyer was a two-year starter for the Husker baseball program, helping the Huskers to a school-record 57 wins and a CWS appearance as a senior • Appeared in 100 career games at NU, hitting .287 with a homer, 37 RBIs and 18 stolen bases while starting 92 contests in that span • Graduated from Nebraska with a degree in communications in May of 2005

2005 Season: Boyer hit .287 with 34 runs scored in 49 contests, seeing time in both left and right field in helping the Huskers to a sweep of the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles • Had two hits while starting all three of NU's CWS games in Omaha • Was 2-for-7 with a hit-by-pitch in the Super Regional sweep against Miami • Hit .308 (4-for-13) with two doubles and five runs scored during the NCAA Lincoln Regional, including a 3-for-5 effort in the title game against Creighton on June 6 • Went 3-for-9 with three runs scored in two starts against Northern Illinois • Went 3-for-10 with three walks in a series win over Texas Tech • Provided one of the biggest moment of the 2005 season with his walk-off 11th-inning homer against Missouri on May 8 - his first homer in 276 career at-bats • Went 3-for-8 against No. 17 Missouri with three RBIs, while also picking up his degree in communication studies on May 8 • Went 1-for-4 with two runs scored in the series opener against No. 8 Baylor on April 22 • Recorded multi-hit games in each of the final two games at Texas A&M  • Went 1-for-2 with three walks against Creighton at Rosenblatt Stadium on April 5 • Drove in a career-high four runs in the series finale against No. 29 Oklahoma State on April 3, going 2-for-5 in the 10-0 Husker win • Went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in NU’s 10-2 win over Creighton on March 29 • Recorded multi-hit games in both appearances against Kansas, going 4-for-9 with a run scored • Had a season-high three hits in a win over Northern Colorado on March 16 • Hit .500 (4-for-8) with two runs scored in two games against South Dakota State • Went 1-for-4 with a sacrifice and two runs scored in a 4-3 win over No. 7 Rice on March 6

2005 Outlook: Boyer is one of three outfielders who return with extensive starting experience after hitting .302 with a team-high 14 stolen bases in 57 starts last season • Looks to be healthy after battling a nagging groin injury over the spring and summer • Topped NU with a .313 average in Big 12 play last season • Can play anywhere in the outfield although he will see most of his time at the corner outfield spots • Could hit at the top or bottom of the order and shows a knack for consistently getting on base • Is on track to graduate at the end of the spring semester with a degree in communications.

2004: Quickly settled in as the Huskers’ left-fielder and lead-off hitter in his first year of action at Nebraska • Batted .302 with 20 RBIs, while starting 47 of 51 contests • Led NU with 14 stolen bases (in 18 attempts), tied for second in walks (27) and was third in runs scored (40) • Ranked 10th in the Big 12 in steals and was among the league leaders in on-base percentage (.432) • Made 30 starts in the lead-off position, as he also hit between seventh and ninth in the lineup • Enjoyed 13 multi-hit contests, including a trio of three-hit games (vs. West Virginia, Texas Tech and Northern Iowa) • Committed just two errors in 69 chances, including one in his last 45 games • Reached base 52 percent of the time (36-of-69) when opening an inning • Batted a team-high .313 with a team-high six stolen bases in league play • Got off to a fast start, reaching safely in his first 18 games, highlighted by a 10-game hit streak during which he batted .341 with 10 runs scored • Enjoyed a stretch where he opened the game by getting on base in nine straight contests • Scored four times, as he had a hit and a pair of walks at New Mexico on Feb. 21 • Had two hits and drove in a pair of runs against Rice All-American Wade Townsend • Named to the Dairy Queen Classic All-Tournament Team, batting .500 with five runs scored in three games • Established career bests in hits (3) and stolen bases (3) while scoring three times in a win over West Virginia • Drove in a season-high three runs and had three hits in the series finale vs. Texas Tech • Broke up Zach Jackson’s perfect game with a ninth-inning infield single in a 4-2 loss to Texas A&M • Enjoyed his best conference series against No. 21 Oklahoma State, batting .500 (5-for-10) with four runs scored in three games • Reached base 10 consecutive times over a two-game stretch against OSU and Northern Iowa • Stole three bases and scored four runs in a win over the Panthers • Enjoyed a 13-game stretch where he batted .362 (17-for-47) with 11 runs scored, 10 walks and an on-base percentage of .500 May 8-28 • Hit .167 with a pair of walks in three games at the Big 12 Tournament.

2003: Boyer redshirted in 2003.

Neosho County CC/Columbine HS: Was a two-year starter and team captain for Coach Steve Murry at Neosho County CC (Chanute, Kan.) • Earned first-team all-region and first-team All-Jayhawk East Conference accolades in 2002, batting .397 with nine homers, 47 RBIs and 16 stolen bases • Selected to the Kansas JC all-star game • Helped NCCC to a 40-15 record and a second-place finish in the Jayhawk East Conference • Hit .395 with 14 homers and 39 RBIs as a freshman • Attended Columbine High School • Selected Nebraska over Florida, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Louisiana Tech.
