Lincoln-The Nebraska football team worked out for two and a half hours Saturday afternoon in Memorial Stadium in their third practice of the spring. It was the first time this spring that the Huskers donned full pads.
Head coach Frank Solich was pleased with Saturday?s practice.
?It was a great day for practice,? Solich said. ?The tempo was very good, and everyone was really brisk. We got a lot of teamwork in today which is useful when you are learning new plays on the offensive side of it as well as some new schemes on the defensive side of it.?
Solich said that no new injuries were reported Saturday.
?It was a good day,? Solich said. ?Everyone made it through practice.?
Solich did say, however, that the team is physically adjusting to practice.
?They are a little sore and tired,? Solich said. ?We cut down the length of practice a bit today, but it was still a long hard practice for them. We will have some contact work tomorrow and give them Monday and Tuesday off to prepare for practice on Wednesday.?
The Huskers will practice Sunday from approximately 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Practice will be closed to the public and media, but warm-ups will be open for media to shoot at the beginning of practice. Players are available after Sunday?s practice for interviews.
